Several years ago, I embarked on a poetry writing journey. Each morning, I would wake early, pull out my notebook and scribble lines relating to the writing prompt of the day. This creative exercise fulfilled me immensely. I loved the process of taking a prompt and making it my own, stretching my mind in new ways. Even though the poetry prompt writing ended, I find myself thinking about it often. Thinking that maybe it's time to start again.
In the meantime, I thought it would be fun to share them here for the next few months. No, they are not perfect and I'm sure they in no way follow any poetry writing rules. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them.
:: Snowflake Lashes ::
milk-white snow descends
tumbling, twirling, twisting to the ground.
each flake glistens,
a sparkle against the pewter-gray sky.
a world enfolded in silvery silence...
this, a moment of enchantment
